Adelaide is a well-planned city, with tree lined boulevards featuring well preserved Victorian architecture, wide variety of restaurants and cafes and large public squares. The city lies alongside the banks of the River Torrens, and is completely encircled by a belt of parklands. The greater city of Adelaide lies on the sandy beach lined coast of the gulf of St Vincent. Adelaide is a medium sized city with a population of about 1.3 million people, with a Mediterranean climate. Adelaide is a great city to visit and explore with rolling hills to its east dotted with various historic villages and towns, flora and fauna and to the west brimmed with white sandy beaches, with clear turquoise seas, and stunning cliff lined beaches to the south. Relatively close to the north and south of suburban Adelaide you will find some of the Nation’s and World’s finest wine regions, boasting an incredible quality and variety of wines and gourmet produce.
